Rules

Rules

1. Handicap is computed as follows:  If you have less than 3 rounds played, handicap is last years or scratch if you do not have a handicap from the previous year. Scratch is defined as having your hdcp calculated after each round (Score  minus 35.5 times 85%). For rounds 3 through 6, handicap is your average minus 35.5 times 85%. Beginning on your 7th round and for the remainder of the season, handicap is your average ( minus your season high score and your season low score)  minus 35.5 times 85%
2. The MAXIMUM handicap is 25.
3. The Dues for 2008 are $20.00 per week. ($15.00 paid for greens fees and $5.00 towards the league) Plus an additional $20 League Subsidy fee (that can be paid at any time during the year).
4. League TEE Time is 4:30pm for the first foursome
5. Play  READY GOLF - keep pace with the group in front of you and let slower groups play through.
6. The NO SHOW scoring has been revised. You will now be playing against the course using your current handicap.  This will allow you to get as many points as possible depending on how well you play.  You will take your score for the hole subtract your handicap for that hole, and if that is par or better, you get a point.

Examples: Your handicap is 9, which means you will receive 1 stroke a hole.  For a par 4, you shoot a 5, you subtract your handicap for that hole which gives you a 4, which is par or better, so you get a point for that hole. On a par 5, you shoot a 7, you subtract your handicap for that hole which is 1 stroke giving you a 6, which is not par or better, so you do
not get a point for that hole.

Your handicap is 14, which means you get 2 strokes on the 5 hardest holes.   You get a 7 on a par 5 which IS one of the 5 hardest holes, means you get 2 strokes for that hole so you get a 5 not a 6, so you would get a point for that hole.

There is one exception to getting more than one stroke a hole and that is for par 3's, you only get 1 stroke no matter what your handicap.

This will allow you to get up to 9 points all depending on how well (or not) you shoot.

The 2 team points are awarded to the team that did not have the no show(s).
7. There will be 16 teams this year with 2 position/half season championship nights, an overall championship night and 18 weeks of golf beginning on April 29, 2008 thru August 26, 2008. The End of season Banquet/Tournament is on Saturday September 6, 2008 time TBA.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       FIRST-HALF CHAMPION - Team that ends up with the most points after the first half position round (team seeding based on standings from the first half).  Showing that they were the best team over the course of the first half of the season.

SECOND-HALF CHAMPION - Team that ends up with the most points after the second half position round (team seeding based on standings from the second half).  Showing that they were the best team over the course of the second half of the season.

OVERALL CHAMPION - Team that ends up with the most points after the last night position round (team seeding based on standings from the entire season).  Showing that they were the best team over the course of the entire season.
8. In the event a regular season night is cancelled by the course, that week will be eliminated and not be rescheduled. If a position/championship night is cancelled by the course, it will be rescheduled and replace a regular season night. If the Overall Championship night is cancelled, the season will end and the champion will be determined based on YTD total points.
9. On the schedule we will be having 6 Dick's Nights. 2 Individual Dick's Nights and 2 Team Dick's Night and 2 Random Dick's Nights on  Hotdog/Championship nights. On the Individual Dick's Nights the player with the lowest NET score will win a Dick's Gift Certificate. On the Team Dick's Night the TEAM with the lowest NET score will win the certificates. The random Dick's Night  will be a drawing of those players in attendance that evening. Tiebreakers will be the matching of the cards starting with the number 1 handicap hole and continuing on until we have a winner. True ties will be broken by a random drawing. NEW FOR 2008 - You can win one individual award per season - once you win an individual Dick's award - you are ineligible to win another or be included in the random drawings.  You can, however win the team awards.
(* NOTE:  Since subs do not contribute $ towards the prizes they are ineligible to win an individual or a team award.)
10. Banquet - Each year we hold an end of season banquet that involves having a tournament based on foursomes.  We reserve the right to eliminate teams or add subs to make even teams based on the number of players we have.  In the case where we need subs to fill the tournament roster we will start with the sub list - based on the most numbers of weeks played and working our way down the list until we fill the teams.
11. All normal PGA rules Apply except for the following:
a) Winter rules apply all season
b) On an out of Bounds, drop the ball nearest to the where it entered the OB/Hazard and take a 1 stroke penalty.
